Obtaining high quality backlinks is a key priority for anyone who is looking to improve their SEO in 2022. That said, some are more valuable than others. Lets take a look at what kind of backlinks there are and which ones we recommend focusing on.

Social: When the Web was new, backlinks were a lot less common and so the only ones that people focused on were ones from websites that were already popular on the Web (i.e. not from search engines). Therefore, it can be a very valuable resource for building backlinks if you can obtain high-quality ones. The best way to do this is to submit a press release on one of the pages of a Wikipedia page and then ask bloggers or press contacts to link to it.

Niche Forum Comments: Forums are another great way to get links from people who have authority in their niche and therefore have an influence in the market. The best way to get links from them is to start a blog that has relevance to your niche and then to submit posts to relevant forums where your niche is discussed. Of course, you will need to be careful that you don't just submit spam posts to get the links because it can be seen as a bad thing in the eyes of Google.

Video:  The idea of a video is not new and it's something that Google has been able to use to its advantage since the beginning of its existence. This is why it's so important to get backlinks from videos. They can be used to increase your rankings and help you improve your SEO in 2022. To make the most of this, you should try to get backlinks from the top YouTube channels in your niche.

Guest Post (Contextual links):  They are one of the most effective ways of getting backlinks and improving SEO in the long term. All you have to do is write an article that discusses a topic that relates to your niche and then submit it to as many publications / websites in your niche as possible. The most important thing you have to remember is to submit them to those that are more authoritative than others. In fact, if they are written by experts in your niche, this can be a great way of improving your rankings.

Press Releases:  If you have something to promote, getting backlinks from press releases can be a good way of promoting it. All you need to do is write one that focuses on a specific issue in your niche and then submit it to as many publications as possible. As we mentioned earlier, it can be a good way of improving your rankings in the long term and if they are written by experienced bloggers in your niche, this can also be a great way of improving your SEO.

Directory Submission: Directories are another great way of building backlinks and this is why they are often used by companies and businesses who want to increase their visibility and improve their ranking in search engines. However, it is important to remember that Google doesn't rank them as well as web pages. Therefore, it's important that you focus on getting backlinks from the most important ones in your niche.

Niche Edits (aka link inserts): A great backlink to get from bloggers who have authority in your niche is to insert your link in to existing articles they have wrote. If these articles have existing traffic / good metrics they can be even more beneficial than guest posts.
